Satire illustration can be found everywhere, it is commonly found in newspapers and magazines as art work that pokes fun at current events and pop culture. After the invention and development of print, satire illustration really took off and is used regularly within editorial illustration. As a satirical illustrator, the job is to find the parody, humour and irony in a subject and spread light on it within the artwork they produce.
Satirical illustration is commonly used to ridicule political issues, and mocking decisions made by the government which are often widely ridiculed or controversial. Satirical illustration acts as a humorous way of addressing a major issue.
