Louis Netter

Louis Netter explores the world of day to day life, traveling far and wide to experience city life first hand. In his own words, “Both my illustration work and my personal work revel in the delights of decadence and absurdity.” Louis was introduced to satire illustrations, which he believed to be a dying art form but because of the re-election of George Bush in 2004 he realised “we can still find ways of laughing through clenched teeth”. He used his background in reportage as a springboard to develop into satire illustration as he found they both relied intrinsically on observation. Netter creates a series of what appears to be roughly drawn images, which interpret his surroundings in a comical manner.
